Why headers on a turbo car

Turbochargers smooth out the exhaust pulses, which is a big part of why many turbo cars sound muted. Most turbo headers use short runners to package easily. The RSX equal extended-length racing headers take a different approach: every runner is the same length, and the runners are extended.

  • Equal length keeps pulse timing even between cylinders.
  • Extended runners give the tone more definition before it reaches the turbos.

The result is a cleaner, sharper, more distinctive tone under load. It's a sound that's rare on the 991 Turbo platform, and the design is unique in the market.

Fitment

The headers are vehicle-specific and designed to work with the factory mounting points and compatible exhaust configurations. Before quoting, we confirm your generation (991.1 or 991.2), Turbo or Turbo S, the rest of your exhaust and any tune, because these affect what else the install needs.

Supply and installation

Header installs on this car are involved, and we can do the full job in Costa Mesa, California. See headers and downpipes, exhaust installation.

Road use

Exhaust and header systems are sold for closed-course competition use only. They are not CARB certified, carry no Executive Order number and are not legal for use on public roads in California or anywhere they are prohibited. Compliance with local emissions and noise rules is the owner's responsibility, and we're happy to talk through what that means for your car before you order.
